Untangle work with Workplace

From informing everyone about the return to the office to adopting a hybrid way of working, Workplace makes work more simple.

Emergency services and government staff have a vital role to play during the COVID-19 outbreak, whether it’s acting as first responders or coordinating public information.

Not only might these staff be among the most exposed to the risks of COVID-19, they’re also among the least well connected. But just like employees in other industries, many will soon find themselves forced to work remotely or reliant on mobile tools. We’ve been asking ourselves what we can do to help.

That’s why, from today, we’re offering Workplace Advanced to emergency services1 and government organizations2 free of charge for 12 months.

It’s more important than ever that people in critical roles are able to focus on their most impactful work, even if they can’t be together in person. Technology will be a key driver in this effort, but only if it makes things easier, not harder. That means tools that are easy to pick up with minimal training. It means solutions that work on both desktop and mobile. And it means a platform that connects everybody, wherever they have to work.

Workplace uses simple and secure tools like video calling, groups, News Feed, file sharing and instant messaging to keep entire organizations connected and informed. We’re already supporting the likes of the Government of Singapore, Oslo Kommune, London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Victoria by making it easier for their employees to access company updates, share information with managers, and respond to fast-moving situations with their colleagues in real time.

“Workplace is helping us to break down walls as we focus on our mission as one team. We are making it easier for everyone to communicate, collaborate and stay united as we tackle the challenges ahead.”

Our experience supporting the World Health Organization (WHO) has shown us that keeping people connected and informed is especially important during these critical times. As Carey Kyer, Lead – Internal Communications at WHO recently said: “Workplace ‘ticks the box’ on our need to communicate, engage and connect real-time with our colleagues around the world, especially during this public health emergency of international concern."

Workplace Advanced will be available for free for one year to new emergency services and government customers, beginning on March 18, 2020, subject to local legal and compliance checks. This offer is valid until June 30, 2020. Applications will be qualified by the Workplace team. Organizations will have the option of moving to either a paid or free tier after 12 months.

Launched in 2016, Workplace now has more than 3m paid users at organizations including Walmart, GSK, Save The Children, Starbucks, Chevron, Nestlé, Danone, Spotify, Telefónica, Delta Air Lines and more. Workplace integrates with other business productivity tools including Microsoft Office and Google’s G Suite. Workplace has industry-standard security certifications, including ISO27001, ISO27018, SOC2 and SOC3, that are required to serve the largest companies in the world, including banks and governments.
